well. these days commercial cigs made by machine (in the US) are mostly 'self-extinguishing'. this is to help prevent folks from lighting themselves on fire or burning themselves if they fall asleep smoking. or they happen to leave one lit in an ashtray.

as to the coffee cup steam? that all depends on dozens of variables. the cup. the amount of sugar or other condiments in the coffee. how hot the coffee is or the cup was before it was poured. how hot or cold the room is, and suchforth.

beer foam? once more dozens of variables. temp of can. type of beer. type of effervescent added, carbon dioxide is the norm but nitrogen is sometimes used too. temp of the fridge. temp of the beer. type of can. size of the serving. if the glass was chilled/frozen first. temp of the room. how expertly/gently the beer was poured into the glass.

seriously, these experiments are going to take forever! how are they going to cram 3 or more experiments with 3 different 'objects' into one more episode?
